WIW - One DIY velvet skirt, worn two ways

Hi guys! I feel like i've been gone for a bit again? Trying to play catch up before i start my day today. We've been having the most glorious spring it's made me really happy. <3

This crushed velvet skirt was a thrift store find awhile back, it was originally a maxi skirt. I ended up cutting it up and re-hemming it so it would make a good spring skirt instead.

The first look was what i wore to a baby shower. I kept a bit of my edge here and there but toned down a bit. My loafers have arrived and i love them. Except i feel like they gave me cankles...or maybe i was just retaining water that day lol. Anyway, i still love them!

Second look is obviously the same skirt worn um, "i can wear whatever i want today" style. I've been wearing my creepers a ton. I think you guys know about my sock obsession and....i got this awesome dragon claw bracelet off Ebay! Love it.

Thanks for looking; say whatever!
More info and photos on my blog as always. ;)

Cankles? Whaa? You're kidding, right? Your legs look great! I love the color and texture of your skirt but it's the green bag with it that is stealing my heart. That's a gorgeous spring-y color combo. Lovin' the spikes and Creepers too (and fun jewelry)!

You have SUCH unique and amazing style, nicole. I love what you've done and am now madly in love with your white creepers. They look like they could be third cousins twice removed to my white 20-eyelet doc boots. :)

You look FANTASTIC! You are definitely our Queen ALGO and Maximal.

    Love #1 and #5.

I am SO jealous of the dragon claws!!!

You look gorgeous, as always, Nicole --- no cankles in sight! Love #2 especially. Such imaginative combinations!

No cankles to worry about Nicole! You look fab - you realize us "oldies" live through you, right???

I love the necklace in #1! So fab! The skirt looks great in both outfits and I really like your dragonfly print top. I'm not big on prints, but I would wear that one.

    Simply great.

Cute as usual! I adore your green bag and spikey necklace in #1. Great job on the skirt repurpose, it looks so cute at this length! And fab slipper flats, I really like the print on them (almost have a watercolor vibe to them).

I like the DIY skirt both ways. And your new slipper flats are really cool!

In my head I've been afraid of white creepers because I thought they would be leg shortening but you're proving that isn't the case. They look so good on you! I haven't pulled the plug on mine yet. But you keep inspiring me to do it.

Thanks everyone! You guys are too nice. ;) I'm pleasantly surprised at how many of you like the creepers!

Denise - You know how i debated over these white shoes before i got them. I don't wear white shoes! But like we talked about before, i think the black & white combo makes it easier. Would love to see you rock a pair of these!

Aida - thanks! I, too, enjoyed that they weren't a traditional leopard print. Maybe they're more cheetah?

Sara L - Rock some insects on your chest! Heh heh ;)

Transcona Shannon - I think a lot of you "oldies" can get away with wearing a lot more than you think you can. ;)

Angie - Thank you so much!

Mochi - ooo i hadn't thought of that! They do both have a punk vibe! :)
