WIW - Creepers! Spiked shoulders! Backpack! Batman!

I finally got my creepers and i am so happy! I have a feeling that these shoes won't be a lot of peoples cup of tea but i think they are adorable and can't wait to wear them with, um, everything. :D

I also finished spiking the shoulders of this denim jacket last night and couldn't wait to wear it. I love it also.

To keep things from getting too tough i paired it with a girly dress, polka dots and curly hair. Oh and a Batman pin. I noticed this Nine West backpack the last time i was thrifting and i scooped it up real quick!

If you want to see more pictures or details about the outfit you can check out my blog as always. :)

Feel free to say whatever!

You're so cute! How many people get told *that* while wearing spiked shoulders? :)

The red socks are a touch of brilliance here.

  • citygirldc replied 12 years ago

    Punk rock chic.

Cute! I like the jacket paired with the polka dot dress. You're so creative to add spikes to the shoulders yourself.

You are so cute that you're spikey shoulders don't even frighten me away! I'd still give you a (careful) hug! I absolutely love those crazy shoes on you. What is their genre? Nerd? Dork? (Pardon my ignorance.) They take your outfit in such a whimsical direction and are a nice balance to the spikes.

I love your WIW's! Your whimsical style & DIY projects are so much fun. If you ever spy a discrete porcupine ring or pin in your travels, I recommend snapping it up.

You are the cutest thing ever! Love the spiked jacket, and I think the shoes fall into the "so awful they're great" category!

You are so fab! And a talented stylist.

    Are the Creepers leather?

  • nicoleb replied 12 years ago

Rae - haha thank you! I don't think i could ever look intimating no matter how many punk elements i put on lol.

Claire - They fall into a punk/goth genre but i know Prada came out with some oxford creepers (last year?) and that widened up their genre a bit.

Classically Casual - Excellent idea! Now that i have this backpack my eye will be on the lookout for unique pins to put on it for sure.

    MaryK - lol thank you!

Denise - Yes they are! They feel crazy heavy when you pick them up but i've been doing some serious walking today and my feet feel great. I just make sure the laces are tied tight so my heel doesn't slip.

Whoa! I would look like I came straight outta Mad Max in that number but you make it look sweeeet! You have such a fun sense of style, Nicole! Love your creativity.

  • annagybe replied 12 years ago

Great! You should look at the blog Kingdom of Style, Michelle often wears creepers.

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

I love the outfit. Not sure how I feel about the spikes....they look pretty deadly but everything else is absolutely adorable and the shoes are fun, fun, fun!

  • Mo replied 12 years ago

Awesome combo of sweet and spikey lol!

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Whoa COOL jacket and shoes! You carry these punky elements off so well :)

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

Well, I think they are so crazy they are cool. Mind you, you could make ANYTHING look great.

I can imagine loving shoes like this. You'd feel like you were walking on pillows!

Love your spiked jacket, too. You really are adorable, you know? I can't even bear to think how cute your kids must be.

  • christieanne replied 12 years ago

Sugar and spikes! Your DIY efforts always come out so professionally. You would pay hundreds for that jacket in a store - awesome job.

I just sold a backpack exactly like that in a white elephant sale - for fifty cents! It was handy but never getting used.

Jeans jacket shoulders: what a fab idea! It looks amazing. I want one.
And I do like these shoes on you!

  • nicoleb replied 12 years ago

Kelly - Would you believe that is not the first time i've been told that? XD My heels with studs have also gotten me "Mad Max" comments lol

Anna - Thanks for the recommendation! I checked it out and bookmarked it. Looks great!

Meredith - Never fear, the ends are curved not pointed :D I'm safe to hug

Suz - The shoes are super comfy! I was a little concerned at first because they are crazy heavy when you pick them up but on your feet they're light as air! :)

christieanne - You are right. I know Ragged Priest does a jacket like this, and i believe it's quite expensive. Thank you for the compliment!

krishnidoux - Then we could be spiked shoulder friends! I'm glad you like the shoes too! I get really happy when i find people who like the same things as me style wise here because irl hardly anyone ever does lol.

This totally works on you Nicole - I love your spiked shoulders. You are the perfect combination of feminine and masculine today!

  • Jjsloane replied 12 years ago

You look great. Nice job on the jacket and a great combination. THis is one of those times I can appreciate what looks right for others that would not for me. This seems very right for you!

  • Jonesy replied 12 years ago

The spiked jacket is full of awesomeness! I have a sentimental love for creepers, as my SO wore them a lot post-college. Makes me think of British New Wave music and warm beer...They look cute on you!

  • Ginny replied 12 years ago

Love the jacket, what a great job you did. You look cute and still apprachable even with the spikes!!

  • greenglove replied 12 years ago

This style and mixing of sweet and edge is just terrific! You are an artist and can really put together looks that may only work for you! That is a complement because you know the elements that are necessary in creating a very distinct look without any costume effect- you look like an art student that is a fashion design major- always the best dressed!

  • Fruitful replied 12 years ago

Nicole, you are your own anime character.

  • Sarah A replied 12 years ago

the head scarf wiith the studded jacket and the red socks and shoes! So brilliant! So so brilliant!
