WIW - "You Sure Rock a lot of Polka Dots"

Is anyone else on here a fan of the show "New Girl"? I love it and when i put this outfit together i kept thinking of that quote from the show.

I wore this out on a day date in Minneapolis with my husband for our 6th year anniversary. It was a super fun day filled with lots of delicious food eating, a little shopping and a whole lot of walking. Like, my feet started feeling it even in flat comfy boots walking. I was pleasantly surprised to get several compliments on my outfit from random strangers through out the day and even my husband said he liked it! Double plus!

Every time i'm in a part of Minneapolis called Uptown i have to stop by and take a picture against this graffiti wall; it's so cool. I would of taken a bigger picture of more of it but my camera died right after this photo. :(

The last shot is super bad quality i know, but i just wanted to show my outfit of the night as well. The DIY Balmain inspired crazy pants!! This was my first time wearing them out. I wore them around in my tiny town and i thought for sure people would make faces at me and point "behind" my back -BUT- much to my surprise i got tons of compliments on them all night. Yay tiny town locals! Expand your wardrobes from your sweatshirts and Uggs! You can do it!!!

Alright, thanks for reading all that if you did. Feel free to say any type of comment. It's truly alright with me.

If you want to see bigger pictures, more pictures or info on what i'm wearing my blog awaits you. ;)

Nicole, you are just too stylish for words. I'm so glad you and hubs had a great day date in Uptown! And I can't wait to see those jeans in the light of day.

  • nicoleb replied 11 years ago

Modgrl - no the cardigan is from Forever21. I think i've only been inside BR once because my friend wanted to go in hehe. ;)

Anna - Thank you! They're pretty easy to make! I just took a black pair of jeans, taped off stripes with masking tape, painted metallic fabric pant over the exposed areas, took off masking tape once dry and voila!

    SarahA - haha yay!

    Shannon - thanks so much!

Sarah - i know right?! Some daytime metallic perhaps? XD

Eek, Nicole! Were you in uptown yesterday??!! I was there yesterday for a yoga class at Lifetime. . .and you'd think I would have sensed your fabulosity in the area ;-)

I love your polka dots everywhere! I wish you would have worn your Balmainesque pants through uptown. To show them how it's done!

So where all did you eat?

Next time be SURE to get puppy dog tails at Isle Bun (Hennepin and about 27th)! YUM :-) Or next time meet me at Lifetime and I'll take you to Isle Bun!

P.S. Where's the graffiti wall? Dunn Bros?
    P.P.S. Happy Anniversary :-)

Nicole, this is a super outfit for a day date: no wonder you got so many compliments. You are sure rock those polka dots!

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

The polkas are FABULOUS! Great idea to add that heart-lock pendant and the cuffs to rough up the sweetness. LOVE your nails as well.

    And what a nifty DIY!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

You are Queen DIY! Love all your outfits :0)

  • AJ replied 11 years ago

MNSara - We had brunch at Tilia in Linden Hills first because someone recommended it to me. It was delicious! I want to go back for sure. I just looked up puppy dog tails and i want! Sounds perfect for me -- i like foods that are easy to eat because i'm always making a mess with food... >.> I would love to meet up with you sometime! We still need to plan that MN YLF get together. Someone else should probably be in charge besides me because obviously i'm not very good at initiating it lol. The graffiti wall is a place called Intermedia Arts (i looked it up). It's easy to pass by because a majority of it is off the street back in the parking lot. But that makes it perfect for pictures because no one isn't a crowd of people watching you! :D

    Angie - thanks so much!

Everyone who likes the pants - Send me your jeans; I'll make you a pair! :D

Okay, I have to ask...what are puppy dog tails?

  • Scarlet replied 11 years ago
